Title: Error  I'm getting in 8.0.388
Post by: dac4m on November 23, 2002, 10:55:15 am
Hi,

im using version 388.

Anyhow, I've ripped many CDs using WMP 9.0, so I could get their new codec.

Anyhow, when I play these tracks on MJ I get this error:

It says it cannot acquire the license for the item, error:
0x80070020

When I ripped the tracks, I did not use any file protection security stuff becuse I didnt want error messages.  I dont get this error everythime in MJ, but it happens often and causes MJ to freeze/ close

any ideas?

The WMP problem could be theirs or ours, but we won't look at it hard until they are out of beta and release an SDK.  We don't recommend installing WMP9 right now.

Thanks...

WMp is near released (in the RC stages now...)

I just hope that this isnt forgotten about as everybody is working on version 9.x

My guess is that it is a MJ error as it does play the songs, and even when I get the error message, I can then re-doubleclick the song and MJ will play it...

But, the error  is annoying becasue it stops the current playback.

This problem appeared only when WMP9 began to be installed.  We're aware of it, but we probably can't do anything about it until the SDK is released.

thanks!

as an addendum....
it only occurs with songs  burned in the new wma codec.  Songs that I burned on prior version of wmp are not affected
