Title: Option to use windows media player for video
Post by: jsosow on March 17, 2004, 07:32:15 pm
I noticed that in the latest release you added an option to change the player (engine) that plays back video.  I have and watch alot of movies in Divx and have found that the best (low cpu usage) player out there is the Bplayer.  Is there anyway to make media center use this program (engine) in the background?

Maybe in the future.  I agree it's a good idea, but we can't do it right now.

What you're suggesting fits with a small discussion that happened the other night.  MC may take a turn to the left and add more file management features.  We'll just have to wait and see....

Sounds like a fantastic idea... more file management stuff is good :)  Look forward to the outcome of the "little discussion".  Adam

For now, try right-click/send to/external.  You can configure any media player you want as an external player and send to it with right-click/send to. Not as seamless as what you want, but doable.
