Title: Help-Removing one second with Media Editor
Post by: zevele10 on March 18, 2004, 02:31:55 pm
Before i throw or JRiver , or my computer througth the window
..or both...

I saved a cd in very bad condition.
Just got a one second noise- not a white noise , more like a 'klop' in a 12 minutes song.

Using Media Editor

First , there is any way to fast play the track?
Noise is at 11 minutes and 16 seconds.
I have to play all before being at this point.
Must be another way.

After that , how i do to select the part to cut?
I cannot .
I put the yellow line where i want.
But just to click on it to select the part i want to cut , makes the yellow line to jump backward.

Anyway , after hours at that , i'am mad.

So , any help welcome.

PS: track is in wav format.

Thanks.

You can zoom the view in and out.  Experiment until you can see this.

Then left click near the beginning and drag to the end and then release the left mouse button.  That should select it.  Make sure both top and bottom (left and right tracks) are selected.  Play the selection to confirm it's what you want to delete.  Then press the delete button.  Save the file to wav.

I should have said that you can play from any point in the file by left clicking at that position and then pressing the play button.

If, instead, you click and drag, you will define a selection that will play.

A few tips and work arounds for problems in media editor

if you try to load one mp3, then try to send another mp3 to media editor, media editor will error out. You must first close media editor to load the second file using media center send to: option.

also media editor still does not remember the file name that is loaded into media editor even though it is listed on the window frame.
