Title: WMA tags not saved to files.
Post by: BCPalmer on March 19, 2004, 09:19:23 am
I just recently ripped 3 new CDs using MC 10.0.93 (to WMA lossless) and noticed that the tag information was not recorded to the files themselves.  I use Notmad to transcode and copy files to my Zen and all of a sudden it's telling me that there is no tag information on these new files.  In XP I can right click a WMA file and it typically gives me artist, album, and track info.  This info is missing from these freshly ripped files.  Have not had a chance to see if it still happens in 10.0.94.

Goto:

Tools
Options
General

Make sure the box that say's Update Tags when ..... is checked.

And on another note, Have you tried using the new Plug in for the handhelds? It truly is amazing...

imjustagamer,
I will have a look again at the Options and make sure I have Update tags checked.  Have to wait till I get home though.

I plan on checking out the new plugin soon.  (maybe tonight)

I checked all my settings.  Just as a test, I selected some of my files, went to Update tags from library, and the files still do not get tagged.  I deleted the files from the library and reimported them.  All previous files had tags.  These files that I just ripped recently (10.0.93) do not have tags.  Tried re-ripping the files using version 10.0.95.  Still no tags.  WMA(lossless)

I am having the same issue withe WMA (Lossless) files.  It seems that the in file tags do not get populated...only the local MC10 database.  I hope there will be a fix or update to this issue as it has been the only snag in an otherwise awesome program.

So is there any plans to fix this in the future??

I appear to have the same issue, but it's just with one tag, a custom tag, for which "save tag in file if possible" is selected. "Update tags" doesn't work. Interestingly, a different custom field that I created is written successfully.

Thanks Matt,
I was starting to wonder if it was a bug or just a couple of machines!
