Title: Connecting to Music Server
Post by: sdv90210 on March 19, 2004, 01:04:49 pm
I have media jukebox 8.0 and I fail to see how Media Center allows for connections to remote (i.e. over a public network) Music Server.  I could search for local servers, but I failed to find the options to connect to a remote server on a non standard port (actually a standard port).

So maybe someone can explain to me the steps needed to get media center to connect to a music server by specifying the ip and port (like I can in media jukebox).

Best,
Shane

I assume you mean Media Server, not Music Server.

You can add a server under File/Library/Library Manager.  Examples are there.

Try a search here, extending the date range back about 400 days.

The help file in MC should also tell you more.

Well, before I install Media Center again, I am wondering can the demo version of Media Center connect to my version of Media Jukebox or would I need to upgrade?

TIA,
Shane

The versions need to be the same on both sides.

Thanks for clarifying this for me.
