I just upgraded from 9.1. to 10 and tried to play a dvd. Then I got a warning that the dvd couldn't be accessed and that probably some software (provided with the drive) is missing.
I had "Power DVD" installed but uninstalled it because I thought I didn't need it anymore with MC.
Am I wrong and do I still need dvd player software ?
As far as I can remember (but I can be mistaken) I could play dvd's with MC9.1, without PowerDVD.

You do need PowerDVD or something similar to be able to playback DVDs in MC and this has always been the case as long as I've been using MC (since 9.0). Installing PowerDVD will install the required codecs that MC need for playback.
