The latest beta of 10 is here:

10.0.96 (3/22/04)
1. NEW: Introducing MC 10's new look: Thunderstorm.
2. Fixed: Several list controls would support in-place editing that shouldn't have. (Customize Toolbar, File Type Info, etc.)
3. Fixed: Always On Top state wouldn't kick in right away for mini-me.
4. Changed: When starting a burn or handheld transfer, MC will show Media Library if you're in a view with no files.
5. Changed: Starting "Convert Files" tool much faster with large lists of files.
6. Fixed: Small memory leak when adding files to the database.
7. Fixed: Analyzing certain files that required the Real Player playback engine could cause MC to hang. (only with certain versions of Real installed)
8. Changed: Removed "Failed" stat from import since supported extensions are imported even if tag reading fails.
9. Changed: Server busy message will not occur during large Portable file transfers
10. Fixed: Drag and drop files to Portables did not remember paths in the last few versions.
11. Changed: WMDM devices will only display files which are playable.
12. Changed: For Portables if selected files to transfer exceeds available size, the AW displays this more clearly.

I'm still running into a problem with MC not writting tag information back to WMA files (only tested Lossless at this point).

My mouse's scroll wheel no longer works in the library tree. Small peanuts, I know, but that's one thing I do heavily when looking for an artist.

MC10.0.96 does not import VOB's into the library. Is this feature presently supported?
-
Any chance of getting the new "Aggressive Reset" option added to the ASIO selecton?
-
I'm using MC 10.0.96, and have noticed that when you convert an mp3 to another format, the new file is appended with "(1)".
If I also have the "send original file to recycle bin" option turned on, I would expect that the new file could then have the same filename as the original - without the "(1)".
It would save me having to rename the files later, to keep the filenames looking tidy.

I'm using MC 10.0.96, and have your new skin turned on.
I've just noticed that when any of the "child" windows are open (eg. convert or analyze file), and you minimize the child window, the minumize, restore, and maximize icons in the window title bar are corrupt.

Bug from previous builds:
Following this sequence of events causes full screen view to crash:
Start in standard view with a track playing and toggle round the following commands:
mjextman.exe /MCC 22009,3 to display theatre view
mjextman.exe /MCC 22009,2 to display Full screen
mjextman.exe /MCC 22009,0 to display standard view
This rarely hapens on the first time round but on the second time round the loop MC will not display Full Screen from Theatre View. All you get are the tool bars at the top or bottom. You can recover it using the glass skin by selecting Audio in Theatre View to go to the page with a vis in a PIP. Then you can select Full Screen OK.
This bug is completely recreatable every time and has been around for quite a few builds now.
Let me know if you need any more info or if I'm doing something wrong.

When I try to copy files from my DAP (Nomad) Jukebox 1 the menu's are corrupt.
All it lets me do is delete.
Is this a problem with MC or is it a plugin fault. Im using the downloadable Nomad plugin for MC9.1

I don't know when this started.
I burned 2 cd's of photos and the cds were both given the name of a cd I burned a week or two ago. The name I put in the data cd name box in the burn wizard showed up as a folder on the discs.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

WeeHappyPixie,
With MC 10 you must use the MC 10 plugin. The current version is 9.0.43 and it is available from the MC 10 Plugins page.
BobRock,
I will respond in the Ipod thread.

Not sure if it's related or not, but, I just opened MC and it opened to about 1/2 size, instead of fully expanded, and I clicked the 'maximize' button, and it actyally clicked on a custom toolbar icon that must have been overlapping the 'maximize' button, since it actually opened Media Editor, instead of maximizing.
Also, I am still not able to import .VOB files either, it finds the files, but does not import them.

We can't reproduce this. Could you start another thread, and maybe give some more details about what's playing, showing, etc.
Thanks.

tiny bug:
when playing mc with windowed mode, the little up arrow above the file list that usually causes the window to disappear only moves the divider up to near the top of the screen - it doesnt hide it completely, so i then have to drag the divider up manually.
once ive pressed the up arrow i dont need to keep reading thats its in windowed mode.
can you change this...

Sometimes when I collapse a branch of the tree with the little "-", the branch instantly re-expands. In other words, I have to collapse it more than once to get it to "stick." I do have the collapse and expand set to "auto."
Also, when I select a field to edit at the very bottom of the screen in the main window, the highlighted bar will sometimes blink frenetically for a bit, as if that part of the screen can't "update" properly for a few seconds.

If "Show Grid Lines" is checked, MC hangs intermittently. It comes back eventually, but it's really annoying. The temporary fix (of course) is to disable this option. Hanging magically goes away.

Small bug, and for sometime around:
The browsebutton in the Acquire Images-Options-dialog is not functional.
Seems to me it can be easily fixed.
