Title: MJ won't start

I rebooted my computer today and now MJ won't start.  I tried to reinstall the latest version but the install script always hangs.  I then tried to uninstall the previous version and that script also hung but then gave the error "Failed to initialize Registration control"

The last thing I did with MJ was try to burn a CD on a Sony DVD-RW.  It failed for no apparent reason so I clicked on an optional interface (ASAPI???) on the MJ Burn CD dialog and then rebooted the computer.  That is when MJ stopped working.

What is going on?  I can't uninstall or install or run MJ now!

Try unplugging the CD burner.

I think JimH is sujesting part of the problem could be maybe a bad burner.

you could try testing the burner with other software, if it works then the problem is with MJ and your system.

if that is the case then it may not hurt to completely uninstall MJ8 and then re-install it from the latest version.
