have a fairly complicated problem to deal with. I had Media Center version 9.1. After I had a computer hard disk problem and had to reinstall. I downloaded the program again, but when I tried to install it, it just quits and won't install. I updated the registration codes with Media Center, but even using that I can't get the program to install. I want to purchase version 10 Beta, but that has to be done from the program which I can't install. I even tried version 7.2, which I was able to install, but it didn't work right. So I uninstalled it.
I love the program and want to purchase, download, and install it, but I can't do it. I wonder if there is a way to manually uninstall the previous trial and paid versions, and maybe that will help. I would appreciate any help you can give me, because I don't want to give up. It has taken about the last two days of my time trying to find a way to purchase version 10.
I am using a Dell Pentium 4 computer.
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
512 MB Ram
80 GB Hard Disk

Go to add remove in windows, and uninstall them from there.
you can also make sure the "program files\J River\ folder is gone.

I have done this. I also did a search and deleted everything that said media jukebox or media center. Then I ran my window washer to clean out everything that was deleted, including the temp files. I then downloaded media center 9.1, but when I tried to install it, it still wouldn't install. The cursor goes across saying it is preparing to install and then just quits. :'( :'(

Try cleaning out your temp files. Run IE and do Tools/Internet Options/Temporary Internet Files/Delete Files. It can take several minutes.

I have tried every suggestion received to no avail. However, I was looking on my Go Back program, where it showed those files being created somewhere. However, because of the abbreviations used I couldn't find out just where. It did say to a temp file somewhere that I can't find. Any suggestions? I wish I could get a trial version again just for an hour or so, so that I could purchase the Beta Ver10. I know that that can not be done - just wishful thinking. I appreciate the help that I'm getting. Maybe something will work eventually.
