I've looked everywhere on the net and can't find any stockists in the UK. Maybe I have to get one shipped from overseas. Can anyone in the UK advise where to get one and which models are recommended for use with MC, NetRemote and Girder.

Have you tried the USB-UIRT home page or forums? I actually thought that Jon was based in the EU, but I could be mis-remembering.

or the forums at:

red rat is uk based

i use irman (and a sony universal remote) - both work fine with girder and mc

Thanks pip. I have Irman but I want to change to USB-UIRT and use NetRemote to control everything like a Philips pronto does.
I'm kinda sick of having a remote for Satellite, one for MC, one for the TV, another for the DVD and another for the Amp.

i dont know much about netremote (although redrat works like usb-uirt for htpc uses with netremote).
is their an advantage of using it over just using a universal remote to control other devices?
-
Man, where should I begin? ;D The main thing for us MC users is full bi-directional control of MC, with feedback coming out your... ::) Believe me, you can't compare it to a primitive Pronto or other old-fashioned multiremote!
-
"bi-directional control of MC" - thanks that gives me an idea, maybe i should check it out...

If I wasn't clear enough you can see what MC does, and you can look at the library. You can even control the equalizer, which I find very cool!
