Title: Column widths autochanging
Post by: xen-uno on March 24, 2004, 08:58:19 pm
I've never noticed this before until 10.0.97 (because it didn't happen). Now 98 is doing it. The widths are going all over the place depending on content (go to Media Library and enter different searches...you'll see). I see no setting that controls this. If it's just my installation then it may have something to do with that 97 bug where dbl clicking on a column header divider would crash MC (I foolishly tried it when I saw the report on it). It may have funked up a registry entry when it crashed. Any ideas?

Why is it called Blue Grass?

I've noticed for several builds that columns aren't fully auto-sizing, even though I have the option enabled.  Long track titles are cut off.

Auto-sizing now uses the width at around the 95th percentile instead of at the 100th percentile like it used to.  That is by design.

:-[ ... that was it Matt ... I swear on a stack of Zeppelin CD's that I never checked the box...but all is well now :).

Per 'sauce's post...yeah, the resizing wasn't perfect (truncation).

Jim,

Found this...

In 1853, the village of Blue Grass was laid out by J.E. Burnside, John Perrin and James Reynolds.  It was situated in a rich, agricultural area about ten miles west of Davenport, Iowa.

The name of the town originated from a point of timber on a much-traveled Indian trail leading from Davenport, located on the Mississippi, to Moscow, Iowa, located on the Cedar River.  This point was a favorite camping ground of the Indians.  In time, the prairie grass was trampled down and destroyed.  A bluish green grass resembling the famous blue grass of Kentucky sprang up in its place.

X-U,

You're not alone...MC auto-enabled that option for me too and it frustrated me too for a while...but, finally I realized what must be going on (checked the option and it was somehow enabled automagically).
