hiya,
Been using MC since about the time it was released, brilliant player!
However, I recently reformatted my hard drive, and when I reinstalled windows and then MC, I found that whenever I double clicked on a media file outside of MC (say, in windows explorer, or from my desktop) I get the error "failed extracting licence from file."
Tried reinstalling the licence, tried reinstalling MC - neither has fixed the problem. Can you help?
Cheers

Try updating your program.

Thanks for your reply. I have just done a you have suggested, and it said that there were no updates available at this time....
-
My guess would be that he meant updating it by downloading and installing the newest versions from the web site (not using the internal updater ... which I have never used, so who knows if they work correctly). If you have a licenced version of 9.1 or 10beta links to download the current version are "sticky-ed" to the top of this forum listing.
I know that especially with some of the original versions of MC10 there were licencing issues similar to what you described (I remember seeing the posts on the forum about it). These issues were all fixed a long while ago though. I'm sure if you download and install the newest versions you should be all set.

I already tried this earlier.... :-[

What version are you using? Copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.
What kind of file are you playing?

No idea. Can you try the right click options for playing a file from Windows Explorer?
-
hiya Jim,
Just tried that and it works ok. I guess, I'll just do it that way rather than double clicking.
Thanks mate,
