for MC 10:
1. Is there any search history for the search function? If not, could it be implemented?
2. Save view at this location: does it save whether you want to view thumbnails or details? It is not working for me.
3. View scheme definition: Lets say i want to make a view scheme to group all the files of other two or more view schemes. Or for example all the files of my library not on a specific view scheme. Is there an easy rule to do this? Can it be implemented?
Thanks for your help,
kamein

1) no, dunno if it can be implemented easily
2) for the view it should save it atomatically
3) i dont understand the question. can you rephrase thanks

2) within the same view scheme, say for example i want a thumbnail view at album level, and a detailed view at song level; is it posible?
3) Lets say for example i have a view scheme called "Albums", and i want to make another one called "Spare Songs". To make it i would like to use a rule to include song like "all songs minus the ones included in the 'Albums' view scheme" instead of using the opposite rules that define the songs included in the "Albums view" because when many view schemes are involved it is more difficult.
And a new one:
4) Any possibility of offering a way to customize the "Playing now..." string?
Thanks again

4) ?
You mean the big currently playing window under the menu bar? If so then right click anywhere in the window and select Customize Display.

2) yeah thats how i have it set up
3) still not sure i understand, but i have this:
[media type]=[audio] [rating]==0 -[Filename (path)]=f:\other\RipCast \
this gives me all unrated songs - / without the songs in the ripcast directory
does that help?
4) did xen answer your q?

I think kamein wants to be able to reference the results of one view scheme in a second view scheme; basically 'all the files in view scheme X that are not in view scheme Y' or something like that... This is not possible as far as I know, but I think it would be great if view schemes were entities in themselves, and not just 'filters'.
I remember reading a post a few months ago where someone suggested being able to save view schemes as smartlist searches and vice versa. Even more simply (says he, knowing nothing about behind-the-software-scenes) it would be great if you could just copy and paste a view scheme... At least then you could very easily invert the parameters to give you the opposite results of the one you started with.

Wouldnt That Be Nice?

I wouldn't mind #1 at all...in fact, it's a good idea...highly utilitarian

EpF got my point on #3. That is exactly what i want.
explaining #2 further:
I have a view scheme with two items, Album Artist and Album:
What i want is that when i am looking either at the hole view scheme or at an album artist, to see album thumbnails. And when i am looking to an Album, to see a detailed view. Making use of "Save view at this location" is not working for me. Could someone explain me how to use it?
explaining #4 further:
When you right click on Playing now and then left click on "Copy Listening to" a string is copied to the clipboard. My suggestion add a feature to customize the format and the info that goes into that string.
And a new one, #5
i would like to have the possibility for the built in browser to not lose the page i am viewing if i momentarily go toanother section of Media Center.
Thanks again

2) it should save it automatically. kamein - i do the same when i click audio its thumbnails, but when i dig deeper its just a list of files.
you could try view > view settings > save this view > for this location
3) as i siad there is no definitive way to do this. the best i can suggest is that you copy the string that the fist smartlist uses then use things like '-' signs and changing the genres and ratings to get the opposite. Unfortunately there is no 1 step solution, but it can normally be done manually with the smartlists as discussed above
4) you cant change that. the only suggestion that i have is there is the playing now plugin which lets you alter the copied 'playing now' text
5) dunno - see if j river reply to that...
hope this all helps

MC 10 is about to be released so we're not making any changes at this time. Please feel free to make suggestions once beta copies of the next version are released.

I must be doing something wrong. It wont save the list style for me. If i select a list style of thumbnails for one view, and details for other, it wont keep the setting. Not even doing "save view" -> "at this location".
Any help please?
thanks
