Title: My newest Info Template for THUNDERSTORM!!!!
Post by: geekbeats2 on March 31, 2004, 12:24:03 pm
Heres my second info template. I seemed to have lost my other (MinimalBlue) when my Geocities website was cancelled. Anyways this new one carries the ThunderStorm skin theme. It includes 2 matching Spectrum Analyzer Visualizations (stereo) and keeps the info displayed to a minimum. Feel free to download and use and possibly customize if youd like. If you have any suggestions feel free to speak but im too lazy to add anything to this one:)

Heres the link to a screenshot and the .zip file:

enjoy! ill be making some new ones soon :)

U know I have no idea what that might be. I had the problem initially after building it so i simply removed the contents of one of the stock info template folders and replaced them with the contents of my ThunderStorm Template and it worked fine. I assumed this problem had something to do with my setup?? anyhow if any of the mods can tell me why it does this it would be appreciated.  But the template works perfectly if you simply replace the contents of one of the stock info templates, haha if u dont mind doing that!

Unzip to your desktop
Now you will have 1 folder, Open it and copy the other folder and the 2 sperate files to the Track Info Folder

C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center\Visualizations\Track Info

I ran into this as well -- it looks great on my 1280 x 1024 system, but on the system using the little monitor at 800 x 600, it's way too big.  Unfortunately, any resolution larger than this is just too small to read comfortably.  Is there any way to get this info template to "scale" with the current resolution?  I use it on my "good" system, but it just doesn't work on the other one.

Very nice work, but I have an alignment problem with the plug-in on my third 1280x1024 LCD display (1c).

I am running a Matrox Parhelia video card with three 1280x1024 displays @75Hz configured as one very large desktop. The desktop is comprised of Displays 1a, 1b, and 1c (left to right).  I don't think this is the reason for the display problem of this plug-in, but I could be wrong.

There are two display issues:

(1) The cover art is about 1/4" below the "Cover Art" header which leaves a 1/4" gray space between the header the the top of the cover art.

(2) The "Tag Info" section has the vertical column of fixed tag field names (i.e. Name, Artist, Album, Genre, Track#, Duration and Date) vertically offset downward by almost a full line from the variable tag info fields to the right.

I'm using WinXP Pro with all of the latest updates and patches and the latest video driver from Matrox for this card (4/15/04). Running MC 10.0.120.

Is there any way to correct this display issue?

Maybe I'm a moron, but do the mjv files go into the track info folder as well?

Havanna,

Yes, they do. I had a little trouble with this myself.

As Imjustagamer noted, when you unzip the download you simply copy the the extracted subfolder "Thunderstorm" AND the two "mjv" files contained in that subfolder to the following path:

C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center\Visualizations\Track Info\

Thanks Rizlaw!

No problem. I believe the confusion lies in the fact that when you expand the download file you get a folder called "ThunderstormTEMPLATE" which has 2 mjv files and a subfolder called "Thunderstorm" which has several jpg and two html files.

It seems, at least in my experience, that just copying the "Thunderstorm" subfolder doesn't get the plug-in to work.

Perhaps the author could clarify this for both of us.

Rizlaw, youre right just copying the thunderstorm folder will not get the .MJV files to work. the .MJV files must be placed into this folder:

C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center\Visualizations\Vis Studio\Spectrum Analyzer

Hope this helps :)

Is there any way to make this skin sizeable (or is there a smaller version of it) so that it will fit on an 800x600 display?

Thanks,

Larry

I have the same problem with 800x600.  I have a HTPC I run MC10 on and I run it 800x600... you don't want the fonts any smaller when you're across the room.

I love thunderstorm but the template is WAY too big at my res.

Could we get a 800x600 version?

Thanks for sharing this -- I'll give them a try as soon as I'm in front of that system.
