Whenever I upload music to my iRiver I can't access MC anymore. Apperently it's so busy converting that I can't do anything anymore like starting a rip session.
But if I start a rip session first, then I can also start the upload procedure. Processor usage is indeed around the 100%. But so what, that's what a processor is for.
Why can't I access MC whenever I'm uploading music to my handheld. I would like to be able to do that. If the requested task is impossible or too heavy why can't MC just tell me so. If I reverse the order of tasks then it eventually seems possible. Or maybe a bug!

Yeah, heavy tagging loads cause this also.
When I update a couple hundred tags at once to the network server, MC becomes effectively unusable for the duration, which can take 10-20 minutes :(
Also, when the currently playing song finishes, the next one will not start until the update is finished.
Is there any way for MC to just ask for 1/2ish of the processor load for heavy tasks like this, and still be useable while finishing. I don't ever try to rip a CD as mentioned above, but browsing the library and getting the next bunch of files ready for the next big tag update would be great.

JustinChase,
On my iHP-140 I am now chanching filenames so that the artist name is not anymore in the filename. Retagging takes a lot of time and the system is indeed dead!
Think this should be done otherwise because I cannot even stop the music playing or change the song that plays on my PC.
Is this a bug ?

I don't think a bug, just an inefficient way of doing some things. I would guess J River could make it better, but not until v10 is released, they get drunk, and sober up. Hopefully mid-April, they'll be back to coding our requests again. ;)
