Title: MC10 & MP4 Files (iTunes)
Post by: chaznet on April 06, 2004, 10:13:08 am
MP4 files don't play back correctly with MC10 -- are they supposed to work?  When I try, the tracks skip and don't sound the same as when played through the iTunes software.

You might try posting in the iPod thread where more people know about mp4.

It should work.  If it's skipping, I wonder if something iTunes-ish is interfering.

I dunno...  MusicMatch and Napster tracks work well.

For what it's worth (probably not much  ;)), I have several iTunes purchased songs in my daily playlists, and they all playback fine on my system.  <shrug>

Chaznet,

How long are your filenames? My guess is more than 50 characters which is a limit for Quicktime which is what we use for playback. Try shortening the name for a file that does not play and see if this fixes your playback issue.

Heh.... it's chaznet that's having the problem, not me.  ;) :P

Out of curiosity, though, do you mean the base filename, or the complete pathname?  I don't have any filenames that are that long, but all my complete pathnames are longer than 50 characters--again, I have no problems playing the files in MC though.

Omni,

I mean the base filename.

Just reply 'return to sender' if I get the wrong name again.  :D
