Please use this thread for bugs only. If you're not sure whether it's a bug, or you need to ask a question, please start a new thread.
The latest version of 10 is here: ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter100111.exe
Information on upgrading or purchasing is here:
http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/purchase.html
10.0.111 (4/8/04)
1. Fixed: With DVD "Expand Image" enabled, the background black borders wouldn't always redraw properly.
2. Fixed: Playlists with order wouldn't save sorting changes as expected. (note: if you don't want sequence as the first sort item, use the "Remove Order" command on the playlist)
3. Changed: JRSS rear channels could be out of phase with each other in some cases.
4. Fixed: Closing MC while DSP Studio was visible could cause a crash on Win9x based systems.
5. Changed: Preset smartlists that have limits now randomize sorting as well. (to prevent clumping)
6. Fixed: When a file list would redraw, the last item would flicker.
7. NEW: Added "Picture Show" and "Ring Creation" 3D visualizations.

since upgrrading a few revisions ago, when I click the webmedia, I get the start page.
where have all of my radio stations disappeaered?
Edit: seems web media loads "file://H:\Program%20Files\Media%20Center\Data\Default%20InetPage\index.htm"
I looked in that folder and I can only find the index html.

After installation, MC is still stealing the .m3u filetype from the program that I have it associated with, even though during installation I select no file types to associate with MC.

Ever since 10.0.110 and now with the latest version I've been getting "Invalid Data Returned by YADB Server" for every CD I put in.

I've reported this bug previously, but, because it doesn't happen consistently, I haven't repeated the report in a while.
While revising tagging info in the recently imported playlist, if the value is removed from any field via the delete key, the file(s) are immediately removed from the recently imported playlist. The files are still in the library but the recently imported playlist is no longer checked. In the specific instance where this just happened, I deleted the value from the "band" field and poof all the files disappeared.

Any Bugs At All.
Still can't play wma radion stations ("Radio Free...") on two of my systems.

The following ASX stream skips during playback:

During the startup splash screen I get a dialog:
Failed to load library (couldnt find or create path)
Click OK and MC loads. The library is there - all seems to work fine. Ive not had this in any previous build.

Under "Options" (tools menu), if you attempt to change the display image, it won't display .png files (just .jpg, .bmp and .gif), yet these are the default format, so none of the images can be chosen.

This might be a bug while trying ( NEW: Added "Picture Show" and "Ring Creation" 3D visualizations.) all the music stoped and I got the media core message

A potentially serious problem with Audible file tags: MC is apparently automatically doing an "update library from tags" operation on Audible files when navigating in the "Drives and Devices" tree. This operation erases all my tagging changes to these files. When I use the tree to go to a folder that contains audible files (in order to import new downloads that I've placed there) MC automatically retags all of the existing files in that folder. Since Audible tags are NOT saved with the files, this clears all my custom tagging changes. This does NOT happen as long as I don't navigate to the folder via MC's "Drives and Devices" tree.
Since pretty much all Audible files come badly tagged from Audible, I have to spend time redoing the tags so that MC's library has the correct and logical information. I luckily had backed up my library recently, so I'm able to get all the tag changes back by doing a library restore, but I cannot go to a folder that already contains aa files without MC automatically getting rid of all my tagging changes.
Is there a new setting that I don't know about that is forcing an update to the library automatically, or is this a bug?
UPDATE: I seem to have found an odd workaround that may have fixed this. If I highlight all the files that keep getting re-tagged by MC and do an "Update Tags from Library" operation on them (it's the other one -- i.e. "Update Library from Tags" -- that's the problem) this problem goes away (at least for the moment.) I'm not sure if I need do this on ALL my files or not, or if the problem will return, but at least for now it stopped the automatic retagging by MC.
Thanks,
Larry

Turn on shuffle mode.
Double click on an album to send it to Playing Now - all the tracks are shuffled.
Select another album in the library. Right click, Add to Playing Now. The tracks are added to Playing Now - but not shuffled.
-
If memory serves, changes made from within MC to folders in the "My Computer" branch of the MC tree were automatically updated to the library and tags. I seem to remember fixing the folder structure and having MC's library and tags automatically update to reflect the changes. Am I remembering this incorrectly? I just made a change to a folder in this manner, and the file (an Audible file) went "offline." I had to navigate to the new folder manually and re-import the file.

The Who / Tommy / Miracle Cure - 12 seconds
Media Center does not up date the playing now or last played on short tracks.
I play the full 12 second track, the fields are not updated. It's not just this track, all "short" tracks. I'm not sure where the cut off is.

Also for Images. If I start some pics from a smartlist to run through a 5 second each slideshow, the last played info does not update.

A couple of months ago, some people were complaining that the play count was getting updated even if they only listened to a few seconds of a song.... they asked for it to be changed... so it was. Apparently, ya can't please everybody...lol.
Check the beta threads to find the one that it happened in.... I can't remember myself.

Navigation Error.
1. Import some tracks. MC automatically goes to a Recently Imported Playlist.
2. Click on Media Library (toolbar or tree)
3. Nothing happens.
I need to click on some other thing, like another playlist and THEN Media Library to get to the MediaLibrary.

Still can't play DVDs. It starts and goes to the menu. Then sometimes it plays for a few seconds when I select play but sometimes it starts over with the FBI thingy. The longest I've ever gotten from a mmovie was 14 seconds. It's usually more like 4.
The movies are recognised and the chapter count and length are accurate -- I just can't watch them.

Theatre View Bug
When theatre view is set to automatically return from full screen view on stop, the buttons on the left side of the screen disappear when returning from a stopped video. This only occurs when the video ends on its own. It doesn't happen if you stop the video yourself.

When you hit the 'close window' button in the top-right corner of 'Windowed' view, MC goes back to the standard view, and everything works fine, but there's still a 'button' on the taskbar labeled 'Media Center Display'. if you click it, it reopens the windowed view. I have to try various iterations of closing the display with the x, and changing it with the right-click and sending it back to standard view, etc. It usually takes several tries to get that 'button' to go away.
this has been a bug since early 10.0
Ask if you want more details.

I just got the visual c++ error with picture show vis. for the second time.

Getting runtime error when selecting "print preview" from within CD Labeler.
This only happens when I select songs (or a CD) and the labeler is started from within MC and I choose print preview. I can print, edit, etc. but just bails if I do preview...
Reproducable every time, please let me know if you need more details.
Thanks - Tim

Attempting to delete files permanently from Recently Imported using Shift + Del and selecting to permanently delete the file does not work. It appears to but the file remains on the computer. It disappears from the recently imported list; however, once you select a different playlist and the reselect Recently Imported the file shows up again.

I can't reproduce on my system. Maybe it's related to the images you are using. Can you remove all the images and see if it still happens? If it works ok without the images, email them to me and I'll try them here.
