I am a new member of this forum and only downloaded Media Jukebox because I believed I could transfer my cassette tapes to my HDD and convert them to MP3
Now I find the files are.wma and the converter will not convert to MP3.
Please tell me it isn't true!!
What can I do???
I already have :
dbpoweramp, nero 5.5, CD Extreme and CDex...and I was under the impression that this all singing and dancing Media Jukebox was just the programme for my precious cassette conversion.
Has anyone who is more techie than me tell me if I should hust uninstall and use another programme.
If so, which programme will do the job simply?
Please help a very frustrated female!

"It's not true"
why don't you select the proper encoder first and go direct from cassette tapes to your hard drive.
there may be problems converting from windows media to mp3 due to it is in protected mode, and or sample rate.
Please help a very frustrated female!
Where do you live? i will be right over if it is close to me.

There is a FAQ here on recording:
http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/how_to.html
Try recording directly to MP3. It's in the options under encoding.

Kings...lol. I live in UK!
Thanks for your reply. I eventually used another programme to convert my files from.wma to mp3, but there was some loss of quality in the process.
Jim, I had read the FAQ on recording, but I still found that having completed the recording successfully, each time I tried to encode, I got an error notice, so in the end I downloaded Media Centre and went from there.

With both MJ and MC, you can record and encode to any format supported by the player. WMA is just one. WAV is another. MP3 is another.
MP3 encoding requires that you have downloaded the encoder plug-in and that you have set the encoding options correctly.
If you have trouble, record and encode as WAV first. Then try converting the WAV file to MP3. If that works, you should be able to set your encoding to MP3 and recording will be encoded to MP3.
