Hi all,
I've just seup a new drive to hold all my music and consequently the drive letter where all my music is has changed. If anyone can answer it, my question is this: How can I update the mediaCentre database so that it knows my files have moved while keeping static playlists intact? (I've already moved the files outside of mediaCentre using explorer).
I've tried:
1) clearing the library and re-importing. This results in loss of all playlists.
2) updating library to remove all files that don't exist. This step removed all files as I expected. Then importing all files on the new drive. This step added all my files again as I expected. The problem with this method is that all of my static playlists lose their songs so I have no idea what was previously in them.
I created a DB backup before starting to play around with all of this so I can easily try any suggestions. Any ideas?

If this works, credit goes to KingSparta. 8) (I remember him recommending this once a long, long time ago.)
You can try the "Find and Replace" tool. Just replace "D:" with "E:" (or whatever teh before/after drive letters are.)
