MC works fine for me when maximized. However, when I use the "restore" icon to reduce the window so I can move it, the title bar disappears and the window looks a bit strange. See image here: http://villamil.org/images/mcbug.JPG
I have already tried reinstalling.

Weird. I can't duplicate this on WinXP. What skin? Have you tried others?
Video driver?

Video driver?
I am using the Z skin. I have tried with Opus MC and Thunderstorm, same result. I can right click on the task bar to Maximize, and things work fine. It seems like the settings for the window size have somehow become corrupted. Where are these kept, so that I can delete them?
Note: reinstalling MC didn't fix this.
My video drivers seem to be up to date, and working fine. (ATI Catalyst 4.2 on ATI Radeon 9800 AIW).

When did this start?
Try a reboot if you haven't.
It's like MC is failing to load / create the region that tells it what parts of the border to draw.
-
Still acting weird after a reboot.
This started with build .114, I don't recall it happening before.
-
Stumper.
Is anyone else seeing this?
Could you try a few other skins. Also, if it isn't too much hassle, could you reinstall 113 or 112 to make sure we just introduced it.
Thanks!

.113 is doing it as well.
Playing around with it suggests that MC is trying to draw a really big window, most of which is offscreen.
I've actually had this problem before, with MC9.1, the solution was to delete state.xml (? I think).
Where is the window size info held? In a prefs file, or the registry?

and .111 is doing it as well.

Try erasing this:
Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Jukebox\Properties
Name: FramePos
Let us know.
-
That did the trick, worked perfectly, thanks.
-
Can you reproduce that somehow?
It'd be nice to fix if you know how it happened...
-
I suspect the cause may have something to do with this: I have visualizations set to run at a different resolution from my desktop. Sometimes I have had crashes when running at the altered resolution. I suspect that FramePos gets corrupted at this point, with the window size being changed for different resolutions.
-
I tested this on another system and got a similar result.
Basically MC ran correctly in its normal window. I then changed the resolution for visualizations, using Config Display, while in fullscreen mode. When I switched back to Standard mode, it was wonky again, almost like on my other system except that this time the menu bar was showing, and I was able to resize the window back to normal.
[Edit] Yep, everytime I switch between Standard view and a fullscreen viz using G-Force, the Standard view is a different size. I am using Config Display to set the display to 800x600 for viz, but the regular desktop is 1280x768.
