Title: Problem buying upgrade to v10
Post by: smpete on April 22, 2004, 09:42:01 am
I've downloaded the latest update for v10.  When I try to buy the update from the help menu, the web browser can't find the site.  Is there a different way I can purchase the upgrade?

Thanks for your help.

Are you using the option in the Help menu?  Exactly what happens?

Yes I'm using the option in the help menu.  It takes me to this page:
Which makes it seem that there is no such website.

I've edited your post.  Do not repost the link or your license will be revoked.

http://www.search-and-find.net/search.php... is a bad link.  It's a problem on your PC.

Hi,

Sounds like someone's taken over your DNS. That link has nothing to do with us.

Try running a spyware cleaner. (I've used adaware in the past).

Sorry about posting that link.  Wasn't thinking.

I'll have to try adware.  I just did a scan this morning using Spybot.

If that doesn't work, open a command window (dos window) and type
tracert rover.jriver.com

The first line will contain the IP address for rover. It should be something like 192.146.151.x. If it isn't, we know your DNS is definitely messed up.

I did another Spybot scan and did clean some more.

I tried the dos prompt and it came back with the correct ip.  I am at work, do you think our firewall has anything to do with it?

Very possible. Is there a proxy server? That might be the culprit as well.
