Will Media Centre support DVD ripping or the ability to play DVD from your hard drive?

MC currently supports playback of DVD from the hard drive if you have ripped the DVD using another program. Navigate to the directory in the "My Computer" tree. MC will analyze the files in the directory and create a fake "DVD" entry in that directory.

I don't think MC supports DVD ripping. For that, I use dvdShrink (web search). Forums compliance disclaimer: only rip DVDs that you own! Don't use dvdShrink to pirate! For example, I use dvdShrink to rip DVDs that I'm going to watch on the plane because running the hard drive takes less battery power than running the laser. My machine runs longer!
