Title: Build 122: 1 Regarding Thumbnails

1. Changed: Creating missing thumbnails creates all thumnbnail sizes. (so Theater View's larger thumbs get built as well)

I'm not sure this is such a good idea as it's going to eat up a lot of space in my opinion. I'm not sure I want to have MC use 1 gig of my hard drive to save thumbnails. That's it.

Thumbnails don't take that much space.

And just let MC build the thumbs on demand if you want to save space.  You can even tell MC to erase them all each exit.

You're right Matt, somehow last time i checked that folder was several hundred megs with just normal and large size thumbnails, so I thought it woul be very huge with all sizes. I just did an erase and rebuild for large only and it cam out to be only 70megs... Dunno what happened before.  ?

Anyway, it's all good I guess.  ;D

This saves a lot of time and MC works a lot better now. Very much appreciated.. Thanks!

One minor thing...could the thumbnail creating start from the end instead?

When you first do it, there's no thumbnails created so it's fine. If you do it again later, it has to start from the beginning, go through the list, and finally creates missing thumbs for newly imported files.

I'm just assuming that's the way it works. No big deal but it would save time.

Hey Dragyn.

Currently MC can only really walk through the database in one direction.

However, I'll see if there's any way to make it faster when handling files where the thumbs are already created.

Thanks.

Another alternative would be to make MC generate thumbnails when a file is imported. Then you wouldn't need to build missing so often and the speed wouldn't be much of an issue.
