I thought it was Sports Center. No wonder I have problems finding curling match results.

Rating something as complex as MC is no simple task.  As Consumer Reports would say "depends on what you want to use it for".  One man's house is another man's castle... etc, etc.

I have to break MC ratings into two categories...
* Music.
* Everything else.

As far as handling music is concerned it is the King... all bow to the king.

But, as far as everything else goes there is still a lot to be desired, such as...
* Video needs a lot of work to bring it up to minimal functionally when compared to full-featured video/TV/DVD programs (a lot has been said about this in other threads).

* Image management still needs a lot of work to bring it up to minimal functionally when compared to full-featured image management programs (a lot has also been said about this in other threads).  I do not think this will ever happen as MC is, after all, basically an audio / video entertainment program & not a full-fledge image management program.

Sooo... what I bought MC for (music) it is simply the very best.

For all other it still needs some work, but I feel confident that some of it will happen in upcoming versions (especially video / TV / DVD).

From when I first started looking at MC (then MJ) as v 7.2 all I can say is...
You've come a long way baby.
 ;D

Powerful program, but the interface leaves a lot to be desired.  It's definitely pretty, but the whole action window thing is annoying.  I'd prefer a task bar like RealPlayer 10.

Media Center 10 is the best player in the world.

The difference  is huge between MC 10 and Winamp, MusicMach Jukebox, Jet Audio, Real Player, Window Media Player, Media Monkey, Virtuosa Phoenix, Ace Player, A2 Media Player, Quintessential Player, Rosoft Media Player, NiceMC Player, or The PC Jukebox.

Some day all the players in the world will look like this concept, MEDIA CENTER !!!

Media Center 10 is the best player in the world.

it would be if they could just get auto-resize column right.  it should expand
to the longest title...(its that simple).  change the way the program denotes
currently playing file.  the bolding of currently playing file is annoying.  more
features on handheld specifically ipod.  fix nomad IIc plugin.
supply nomad IIc plugin.  make it easier to move your music library.
here's an idea:  1.)create and option that denotes your default library 2.)now,
say your library is m:\music lib\ it reads it as %musiclibrary%.  so no matter where you move your library is it will read %musiclibrary%\astist\track#.title etc.
 just an idea.
do all this and you have a solid program.

hey hit_ny, i'm not sure if you've use the new version
but auto-resize is pseudo auto-resize.  i don't get y its
so hard to make it 100% instead of some other value.
thanks for the heads-up, but to me it's still incomplete.
