I have a hard time viewing all the rules in a smartlist, since I make a lot of rules, and the window is narrow. Is there an easy way to do this that I haven't figured out yet?
-
copy them into word and view that way?
-
you don't need word for that, use a simple text editor :P
-
I have done that. But I want to see all the rules at once and be able to change them too, using the wizards. So I guess I'm the only one who feels that manipulating the rules in that window is clumsy.

It wouldn't take much to do some kind of editor with syntax highlighting, parenthesis ballancing, etc. within MC.
Although probably what most people would like is some kind of wizard that boilds the rules for you.
-
The building of the rules is no problem. But I change my mind all the time, and I like not to have to try to maneuver the cursor so that I can backtrack to whatever rule I want to change, and then click just right to get the wizard up. It should be easy and quick, and I wish I could see the whole set at once.

You are not alone. The biggest single improvement I could see in MC going forward is a much better smartlist editor. Something like the one in iTunes.
The smartlist language itself is very powerful - however, editing is a real pain.

I so agree. I never tire of tinkering with it (cursing all the while at the clumsyness of it) to rearrange the rules to suit today's mood, or to try out something I read about here or elsewhere.
I hope enough others will speak up about this to get some attention. The music management function is the best part of Media Center for the time being.
And as for Dynamic playlist updating? I've almost forgotten about it.
