Title: What does 'Check for updates' check for??
Post by: EpF on April 26, 2004, 03:54:50 pm
I'm curious - what does 'Check for updates' check for?  I'm 3 builds behind the current version of MC 10, and 7 behind the Nomad Jukebox 3 plugin, but it tells me no updates are available...

 ?

Thanks for the reply, but I'm still confused - is MC not out of Beta and into stable releases now?

Yes, but the latest build might not be considered a "stable release."

I see.  Do you know if the function then downloads the whole 16MB installer, or does it 'cherry-pick' updated features in the new release?

No, there isn't. At least not if you by 'cherry update' mean a 'only-updated-files' installer. MC is for broadband users, as I remeber Jim once said...

well it should be the whole program is updated minus visual C Runtime files.

Not sure if that is currently true but it was.

I am also not sure if they are still Using Visual C Net Or Visual C, they at one time attempted to compile MC in visual C Net and did have problems with the builds.
