Title: Problem burning CD after upgrade to 8.038
Post by: jjarrett19 on November 16, 2002, 06:22:32 am
Please help!! Ever since I updated to MJ version 8.038 I can't burn CD's using the MP3 format (using the data tab).  When I try I get the following message: Error: 'LOAD DISC' command failed on device 1:0:0  Unexpected target error (04h 00h 04h).  My computer is running an AMD 2.1 XP processer with 512mb of ram.  The current operating system is 2000 advanced server.  The ASPI versions are as follows:
WINASPI32.DLL 4.712
WINASPI.DLL 4.60 (1021)
ASPI32.SYS 4.712
WOWPOST.EXE 4.60 (1021)

I was able to burn a cd using the first tab for a regular music CD.  I have no problems using the CD burner on any other programs.

Any Suggestions???

Your current on ASPI...that's good.

Are you using Internal or External ASPI? (see Settings>Options>Cd Writer Settings>CD Writer). Unchecking implies using External.

Another thing to check is whether your user account has Administrative priviledges (I would assume so, you can't update ASPI without them)

Last resort....Backup License...Uninstall MJ...reboot...Reinstall MJ...Restore License

I unstalled the program, rebooted the machine, and reinstalled the program and it still doesn't work.  Any other suggestions?

Post your sys info from Help>System Info. Do you have any other Rip/Burn programs installed?

Try unchecking "use internal aspi" on the cd writer settings page. Let us know.

Thanks.

I've been struggling with the same burn problem since I upgraded to version 8, and I've done everything (ASPI, uninstall/ reinstall, slow burn speed, everything). I finally gave up and went back to version 7, and burned with no problem.
