Once an iPod's been initialised to use MC, can it still use iTunes?

It is not a great idea to go back and forth between them. They play nice in most circumstances, but not in all.

Thanks for that! My concern's around the need to copy an AAC file using iTunes - can I do this at anytime or is it something that's best done when everything's being setup?
Cheers

Ian,
It is best to do it when you are setting up. Keep in mind you only have to transfer one AAC file one time with iTunes. After that you are all set until you fully format your iPod (not just reinitialize). After that first transfer, import your AAC into MC and transfer from there.

Has anyone download the new iTunes 4.5 and had any problems when using Media Center?
Or had any problems with their iPods after the new install?

I can't any ratings to sync to the iPod using MC10. Not sure if it is a firmware issue or an MC10 issue, but something is definitely wrong. Oh, and I did a restore too.

Bill,
Would you mind outlining a basic test which fails for you. For example....
1) Sync a playlist with 5 songs without ratings.
2) Disconnect iPod and rate songs 3.
3) View songs in MC for this playlist on iPod and verify they are rated 3
4) Resync
Thanks,
Steve

Here's how I use both (wish I didn't have to).
1. If I download non iStore mp3s they go to a temporary file because I get these many different ways. I use iTunes to Import them (and copy the file) into the iMusic directory structure.
2. Then I use MC11 to Import them into the MC11 library. MC11 uses the iMusic directory for all the music files as well.
It would be great if there was an option in MC to import files and copy them into the directory structure.
Lastly, buying music from the iStore is the biggest problem (not MC's problem at all). Since JHymn quit working with iTunes6 I haven't figured out a good way around this problem.
Thanks,
Wes
