Title: Which file formats can play back multi-zone?

I know from experience that multiple MPC files cannot be played simultaneously in multiple zones.  MC claims its a problem with the decoder.  Are there any other file formats that are limited in this way?

I'm planning a whole-house audio project for our new house and I'd hate to choose a new format, re-rip all my CDs, and then find out that again I can't do multi-zone due to the format I chose... :-[

Or, is there any chance the MPC decoder can be "fixed" to allow it to play multiple files simultaneously?
