Im frequently using the search bar to track down certain songs/albums/artists but if i type in say "chemical brothers" the screen returns any track with chemical brothers mentioned anywhere in the tag. So given that they are an influential duo i get 200 files not the 70 odd that were actually BY the chemical brothers. the rest usually reference them in the bios or album reviews.
Is there a way to limit the search fields (and save my settings), as it really unlikely that im going to search for the band that was influenced by santana!!!
Ideally i think there should be a quick search and for those rare occassionaly a comprehensive search. Or prehaps a search visible fields only check box...
Now im aware that i could specify [Artist]=Chemical Brothers, but thats slow and there are often times i know the word im looking for but cant remember if it was a track/album or even the artist...
anyone else understand / share my sentiments?

You can create custom keyword shortcuts. ar= is a stock one for artist.
Also, turn off "Default search field" for the fields you don't want searched.
Those options are in the library field properties. (Options > Tree & View)

thanks Matt - i should have known that you would have thought of this already ;D
All i had to do was uncheck the 'Comment' field (which i use to store the album review) as a default search item and i was done
Have a good weekend
