Title: Error Message
Post by: bodyboy909 on May 01, 2004, 06:59:11 pm
I just downloaded the free version of MJ and I am trying to convert my own .wma file to a .mp3 but when I select the track and click "convert" or whatever I get this error message:

"Cannot Create Plug-in 'MP3 Encoder' Error 80040154"

then I click ok and another error box pops up:

"Cannot Create Encoder Control"

I just want to convert a few files. How do I do it? Can this be fixed or is there a really simple free .wma to .mp3 converter that anyone knows of?

I think that MP3 encoding is not included in the free version of MJ8. Plus features are in the full version.

From the website:
"MP3 Encoding (PLUS Feature) - MEDIA JUKEBOX gives you a host of encoding options that include ripping and encoding CD's to MP3 up to 320 Kbps, constant and variable bitrate encoding, and encoding with multi-processors (where possible), to give you the fastest encoding available."

You could as well download Media Center 10 and try it. You have 30 days time to use it free. I'm sure that you can't be without it after that time. (...just a word of warning  ;D)
