So I'm still fighting with the files I ripped and trying to convert them to APE-compressed files. (See http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=21093 for more details).
They are reported to be 48kHz/24bit WAV files by MC10 & they play back fine (as far as I can tell).
In trying to convert them to APE files, I get the following error:
Monkey's Audio Compression Error (error #1000).
Trying the stand-alone MAC 3.97 just red-flags the files and doesn't do anything with them.
Matt, any ideas?

Actually this should be in the Monkey's Audio site/forum if you didn't try it in MC 10.0.127. New internal APE encoder is v.3.99.

If you're running Win9x / ME, redownload the latest Monkey's Audio. There was a Unicode support fix.
-
Nope.
Running Win2k.
I will try with the current versions of MAC and of MC later. If I have further problems, I'll holler again.
Thanks,
Brad

Consider this a holler! :)
MC 127 and the latest MAC exhibit the same problems with my ripped 48/24 WAV files.
Any ideas?

MC 10.0.128 (going up in just a big) has a new and improved converter core.
I just tried with a big 24/48 wav file made with MC's disk writer and it worked as expected.
Give the next build a try if you don't mind and let us know what you find.
If it still doesn't work, could you send a small sample WAV to matt @ jriver.com?
Thanks!

MC 10.1.128 worked! :)
The same files that choked 127 & MAC 3.99 worked a treat in build 128.
Could the issue be size-related? The files I'm trying to convert are upwards of 1.2GB (so I'm glad I didn't have to figure out a way of getting one to you).
Also, since they are extracted from a DVD, I wonder if there is the possibility of a malformed WAV header or some incompatibility there (although the WAV files played fine in MC from the get go....)
Regardless, I'm happy.... If there is is anything else I can do to help troubleshoot, let me know.
Best,
Brad

Us too. The new converter core must have done the trick.
Thanks Brad.
