Title: Problems purchasing (Upgrading)
Post by: sdph on May 05, 2004, 09:07:34 am
When I select help / buy media center, the web page it brings me to doesn't seem to exist.  I am trying to upgrade from Media Center 9.  I know there isn't a real hurry, as I get 30 days.  I just like to get these kind of things out of the way.  Is there another link where I can go to pay?

Are you trying to Upgrade to MC10?

If so, download and install the newest mc10 version, (at the top of this thread) then goto help and buy.

Thanks, but this is exactly what I am trying to do.  It takes me to a non-functioning web site.

Are you using a firewall or proxy server?

Please be careful not to post any license information here (some is passed as part of the URL)

Nope, no firewalls or such.  Any more ideas?

Can you post the URL you're using?  (REMOVE THE LICENSE KEY FIRST.)

We saw a problem recently that was related to a virus.

The "Buy Now" sends me here:

http://%1%20https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/buy.cgi?productid=16&upgradefrom=XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Again, it seems to be a dead link.

Something is messing with your links.  It should begin with https:

You may have a virus.

I don't have any viruses according to my McAfee VirusScan (updated as recently as yesterday).

However, based on your response I removed the first part of the url, "http://%1%20", so that it started with "https:" as you indicated, and this worked correctly.  Kind of strange, but thanks for your help.
