What other applications do you use (Browser, E-mail, etc.) and where does MC rank?
Example: IE, Eudora, MC, Word -- MC is #3.
-
Ooops, I hit 1, should have been 2.
I use my Browser (IE2) the most...
-
In order of use...my accounting software and my dvd creation program (am busy making albums of old family pics for all of us, as we seem to be dropping like flies!!! and have to get the info while there is still someone around who knows the histories that go with the photo's), then the browser, my website and last is a tie between my e-mail and my organizer. ;D
-
1: Outlook.
2: Opera browser.
3: ACDSee
4: MC & ATI FM Radio.
5: Flight Sim.
6: Excel
7 & up ...everything else.

MC used to be number 2 when I was busy organizing my music. Now that it's mostly organized, I use it (slightly) less.

I think a more interesting question is "how much do you use MC for media related tasks"? MC is definitely my main media related app but there are tasks that are easier in other apps.
-
I marked #3, but only because it's loaded third. I open Outlook, Firefox, then MC in the morning. All 3 stay open all day long.
Everything else is used as necessary.
-
I downloaded (and have now purchased) MC, after stumbling across a reference to it in a Dell forum.
I run a small tv newsroom, and was instantly taken with MC's ability to organize different kinds of media files - and the tv/timeshifting capability.
Haven't dropped a tv tuner card in yet, but I'm anxious to try it. Right now I Tivo both of my competitors and use a WinXP MediaCenter Edition (the Microsoft one...) pc to record us.
I use the WinXP desktop manager to keep four virtual desktops open, with desktop one always being empty - until now. I've opened MC there.
FWIW, the others are an Associated Press newsroom application called NewsCenter (it's where my crew writes stories, produces newscasts, reads wires) in desktop two; Palm Desktop in 3; and Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird in four.

It's hard to define what I use the most. Most clicking? Most run time? Most screen focus time?
Whenever I'm home MC is usually running and playing music. But somedays I only start MC and click play (playing the current playlist) and then click again once to shut it down for the day. That's two clicks and MC is never non-minimized otherwise. I may use my broswer for only an hour and click hundreds of times.
-
1 FireFox(Interact Forum) 2Thunderbird 3 M.C. Everyday same order
-
1- Directory Opus
2- Outlook and Mailwasher Pro

My Antivirus app is always there, but I guess I'm really not 'using' it.
-
It probably goes something like this...
1) Firefox
2) Trillian
3) Media Center
4) NetBeans / VS.net
Although, at the moment, number three has been replaced by the Creative DVD-Audio Player, because I just bought an Audigy 2 ZS, so I can finally use my Onkyo 5.1 AV receiver properly and I've been listening to the DVD-Audio sampler non-stop for the last couple of days :P All of a sudden Classical music sounds a lot more appealing :)
Speaking of which, does MC support reading DVD-Audio discs? For me, MC played the first part of the video track, but ignored the audio track.

At work, I use MC all the time to annotate MS Office files, images etc. and then use playlists to group them into mini projects. I guess that makes it #1.
