I just got a new Dell work PC .. came with WinDVD (dont know which version) ... but, its done doing its initial crash and now I dont have the software anymore ... and the IT folks here dont give out setup disks with new PCs ..
So, is there any FREEWARE DVD player software out there .. I dont need anything exciting .. and when I tried to configure MC to play DVDs it told me I didnt have an external player configured !
Help, Please?

The basic version is free, but you might need codecs for it. A lot of people like it, but I don't have any experience with it.

zoomplayer requires codec to be install too (like media center).
