Title: Can't burn data dvd
Post by: boondocks on May 17, 2004, 10:51:54 pm
I'm enjoying MC's great library and playback features, and I burned my mp3 collection to dvd-r without a problem. Great program!

However, I haven't had luck with backing up my data files to dvd-r (about 4.2 gigs worth, maybe 34k files). The first time I tried it the program would suddenly quit without giving an error while "analyzing files".  I narrowed down the problem to one folder with many deeply nested subfolders. When I try to burn without this folder the program doesn't quit, but doesn't burn either:
1) it advises me of truncation of filenames. OK.
2) an alert box with an exclamation icon and an OK button appears, but the box has no message. OK.
3) the program stays at "writing files" with no progress (waited for 30 minutes)

I burned using the recommended joliet setting.

Who has had luck writing data dvd's? Any tricks?

Thanks!

It works fine for me, but that's with +rw and fewer files.
