Title: tagging files on iPod
Post by: woodentopz on May 19, 2004, 07:53:01 am
Am i correct is thinking that it is not possible
to change the tags on one's iPod  via Media Centre?

I have tried serveral times now, and the changes
appear to be saving, but after a refresh, all the tags
return to their original (bad) state.

is there anything special i should be doing?

I am using the trial version of MC 10,
on Win98, with a 3G iPod.

Hi Woodentopz,

YES, tagging on the iPod is possible...I do it all the time...

You only need to take care about the direction and order of your synchronizations.

1.  HH > MC  will write your iPod ratings to MC
2.  MC > HH will replace your iPod ratings with MC's ratings

Note that option (2) is the default...  Also note that the record with the latest revision date will supercede.

woodentopz,

For tags other than ratings, change the tag info for the file in MC and then resync. The file with the old tags will be removed and replaced with the correctly tagged file.
