Title: How to buy after expiry ?
Post by: Gorse on May 20, 2004, 04:46:41 am
Hi,

I've been using the trial of Media Center 10. Coming toward the end of the 30 day trial and I decided I liked it enough to buy it. I was going on holiday so decided to buy it on my return.

I've now returned and start up Media Center, but it says the 30 days has expired (which I expected of course). It obviously won't start up and when I click on the option button that says "BUY NOW", I get a box appear that states "Failed to initiate Media Center purchase".

How can I now buy it please ?

Thanks

John

Make sure you have a recent version.

There is a FAQ here:

www.mediajukebox.com/license

Check your system date.

Firewalls and proxy servers can also be a problem.

Jim

I have just installed Version 10.0.139

I have read the FAQ

My system date is correct.

When starting the program up I get the box that says my 30 days has expired, and 3 option buttons - BUY NOW, Tell me more, restore. When I click on BUY NOW I get the failed to initiate Media Center purchase message.

I really don't want to have to go back to Windows Media Player  :(

Are you using Internet Explorer as your default browser?

Media Center is having problems starting Internet Explorer to do the purchase. You can do this yourself with the URL:

https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/buy.cgi?productid=16

But I'd like to know why IE is having problems starting up.

Yuk no, Internet Explorer isn't my default browser.

I've now used the link provided and am back up and running with Media Center.

Many thanks
