Title: Crashing your system?
Post by: SteelTrepid on November 14, 2002, 09:37:38 pm
I am just curious if other users have had problems with their system crashing with XP when starting up MJ?
I've been registered for over a year and have had sporadic problems with MJ.  Once I downloaded or was in the process of downloading and a message came up, when I noticed it and tried to read it my computer rebooted.  It left my system unusable, the nt??(can't remeber at the moment) file was corrupt and I had to reinstall XP.  Other times I've noticed after updates that the program will quit responding and XP will ask to shut it down.  This has happened several times and after another update (when another comes out) it seems to be ok until another "bad" update.  It was really bad with the first few versions of 8.0.  I have SP1 installed and was fine until 8.0.388 came out.  Now when I click to load it the system totally locks.  No Ctrl-Alt-Del, nothing I have to hit the restart button on my case.  It has just been really weird since I got the new version.  Anyone else having any problems??

Try updating your ASPI (Adaptec) to v4.72 (make sure no app is running when you do)

edit > also there is a XP SP1 out (but you installed it? Sys Info says otherwise)
