Quote by 'John' from CNET user reviews:

"...They have some type of 'activation policy' whereby you have to get your license from online every time you install it and are limited to 10 installs a year. After that you have to beg them to let you install the software you paid for and its up to them if they let you or not..."

wtf is he talking about?? This is a spin on whats true....they should really weed out reviews that just dont speak the truth :(

Glad to see that MC got a fair review from CNET officials though!

I read some of the reviews and I can almost guarntee I know who wrote the bad ones...

Oh well, It's not the odd bad review that I would look at, it's the review from the site itself...

5 out of 5.... Congrats Jim and Staff!

One or two of the "user comments" read as if they were put there by competitors as "spoilers".  I see the regular upgrades as a positive aspect for they show that the authors are responding to users' input. Most of the time, anyway.  Nothing in this world is perfect!

But how on earth could those bozos fail to mention the biggest thing that sets MC apart from all other players: Multi-zone within one program!  ::)

Sounds like someone's lying. There were several negative posts there which complained about the program destroying their computers. That's just plain false, and there should be some way to get them removed. An honest, even biased, negative review is fine, but posting blatant defamatory lies about a product is not just wrong, it's libel.

As the percentage of negative user reviews (at least when I saw it) was almost 33%, I'd suggest that those of you reading this go and post your own review to help skew it back into some semblance of reality.

I was actually quoted by someone on Cnet as supporting evidence of "how bad" MC is. >:(

So, for the first time ever, I submitted my (positive) opinion to Cnet.

When I read user comments, I discard the ones that are longer than about 50 words. Especially ones that say how they were mistreated by the company, an app destroyed their system, etc.

And I think most people can recognize personal vendettas.

The review by CNet is great, there are many "I love it' in there.

The ones who post the 900 word essays are simply wasting their time.

I only read the negatives and see if there's some problem a lot of people are having. Most of the time the people who writes negative comments idiots and the program is safe to use. Once it saved me though, when I was about to buy a e.digital playe... god thing I didn't; then I would've never found out about J River  ;)

The publisher link in the CNET review takes you to the Media Jukebox site, not the Media Center site.
