Title: OT: Calling HTPC experts
Post by: mindracing on May 27, 2004, 01:51:02 pm
I have an ATI 9800 card hooked up to an Infocus projector.

When viewing my PC on the projector and plaing a DVD in MC the DVD playback window is black.

Why is this?

Thanks

I am no expert, but i think this has to do with directx.  I have run into this before when playing a video while having my video card in dual monitor mode, but only using divx.  I usually just turn one of the monitors of, but that is probably not what you want to hear.  Could be an ati specific thing because i also have an ati card.

My guess is that this somehow has something to do with progressive scan not being supported by the projector, or the other way around.  Just a guess...

Does other DVD software work?  It may help installing your DVD filters / software again if there's a filter problem.

And cool beans about the projector.  You should share some info and pictures once you get it working.

Mad Chemist had it right. I turned off one output from the card and it now displays fine.

I'd sure appresciate some help with this thread http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=21769

Once I get the sound sorted I'm done.
