is there a way of storing files in wav on a fire wire hard drive and carrying them to another licensed mc computer and rebuilding the database of artist names alblums track numbers etc. In other words is there a way of transporting 200 gigs of music in wav and recreating the mc database. do you support networked computers?

if your gonna transfer it to another computer with MC, why not use APE? Or at least use APE for transport. It supports taggin, wave dosen't.

You can also put the files in a certain file structure and recrete tags from it (ie Artist\Album (year)\track # - title)

why did you call this thread iPod, I wonder.

edit:
MC do support network streaming among other things via Media Server. I don't use it myself, but as I understand it's quite powerful.

200gb on one drive?  :o

but yes, MC will let you recreate a folder structure from a jumble of files if they have ID3 tags or are properly named
