I have an Archos JR20 and I'm trying to find a way to upload files to it while maintaining the directory structure. Is there a clever way to do this?
For Example: If I store my library in C:\music\artist\album
when I upload it will only transfer to the directory that I drag it to without transfering the artist\album directory along with it, so I have to copy each manually and create directories manually. Am I missing something? Or is there no easy way to do this?
Thanks

Currently there is not an easier way to do this. We are close (within days) of implementing this in version 9 for the iPod. Once this is successful, it should be possible to make this capability available for all removable drive players such as the Archos.

Cool...that's great news. I just tested out the playlist upload in the current rev of the IPOD plugin and was wondering if this would become universal for other players.
Is this going to also include synchronization?
Thanks

Matt,
sounds great.
Could you implement some kind of pseudo database functionality?
Archos (and probably many others as well) doesn't have an internal database....
My idea is to build alternative routes to the files by creating an (or more than one...) additonal hirarchy using playlists. These could resemble different mediaviews.... (know what I mean?)

Ingo and Brickf,
Once the dust settles on the iPod Synchronization we can look at creative ways to implement this for other removable drive players. Synchronization would certainly be a likely way to go.
