When scanning cover art images, the scanning TWAIN software is launched using the MC skin you're using at the time - which tends to look pretty bad.

I raised this as a bug a while back, it was fixed for a few builds, but has since reappeared.

Not really a bug but just a problem when using several libraries and girder :

Media center sets as Window Name "Media Center - name_of_the_library".
When loading a different library, this name change and then girder cannot continue to send messages to the  MC target.

Will my previously reported problem (pasted below) be fixed, or am I mistaken about it or doing something wrong?

----------------
I just created a view sheme that reads a smarltist group. one of the smarlists is called "one random album" and i think you can guess what it does. it has the folling rules:

[Media Type]=[Audio] ~n=1 ~a

If i select at the smartlist in the playlists tree section, all is well and one random album is returned.
however, selecting that smartlist in the library view from its' smartlist group pane returns thousands of files in no apparant order.

I assume that this is a bug.

In the Rename Files Using File Properies popup there is a checkbox to Use 'Assorted' for [Artist] on multi-artist albums.  Should this option be available also under Options/File Locations?  If it is I appologize , I have not seen it.

Also, does anyone see the following behavior or is it just me.  I've posted these a few times but nobody else seems to have seen this behavior:

1.  Rip Progress indicator does not reset for each file being ripped.

2.  When ripping a CD, the status column will not autosize to include percentage ripped.  I have the Autosize columns checked under Options\tree & view\list.

Thanks.

This has been a problem for a while so I'm attempting it again.

Video fullscreen to a second monitor is not "full screen".

MC is crushing the top and bottom of videos. It's also not center Left and right.   My ATI is set to its max, both stretching top and bottom and pushing images to the left..... and even with that it's not centered.

I'm using Premiere to capture videos at fullscreen.  Everything looks fine (ratio size) within Premiere. It's only when I play them back using MC where it's ratio looks off.

My ATI AIW 9000 is set to the Max for scale.
MC is set to fullscreen.
My video files are both mpg1 and mpg2.

Flush color doesn't stay at correct color. When you first assign a color, it's right...but once you save it, it changes color.

hmm...

Not at all a bug, but a feature request:

I have my media library in "Artist - Album (Year)" scheme and has it display as images.  I love scrolling through my CDs and double-clicking on the one I want to listen to.

Could it be possible that if I typed the letter "S" it would take me to the artists starting with S?  That would be so much easier than trying to scroll through these 822 albums.

Thanks,

Dan "da Man"

Dan,

I think it allready does.... At least it works for me!
You first have to click inside the "Artist" column (not on the title bar). Typing a letter jumps right to the first artist that starts with that letter. Type the letter again and it finds the next artist.
This works the same way inside the left pane, but the Album/Artist tree must be in expanded view.

EVER LASTING BUG!!!!!!

The tag for "BAND" is always autocreated!

i.e: Import a set of mp3 files, the Band tag is there, remove it, update the tags, delete the mp3 files from the library, re-import the mp3 files, the BAND tag is again populated! Maybe there is a rule somewhere for that? But Tags should reflect what the user does with them.

Important CD Ripping Bugs

After ripping CD in secure mode it is not possible to check (by playing) sections which are reported as faulty by ripping report/log.

I also noticed that the log is  inaccurate - it is not reporting some problem areas of rip.

Also hugely differing results reported in log for same CD on differing drives.

also on cd ripping:

often after i rip a CD and want to reip another one, the 'rip' icon has dissappeared from the action window, i have to go look for it in the drop down menu instead

also, in the same way that the startup page knows its not connected to the internet, it would be nice if when ripping a CD MC could automatically detect if i were connected to the net and complete / not the CD details for me. As it is it tries to access the YADB database for 30 secs then says failed then i get to where i wanted to be in the first place

While on the subject of CD ripping, I'm hoping that changes can still be made to version 10 as outlined in this thread:

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=20443 (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=20443)

It's pretty clear that the majority of people prefer the general rip workflow of version 9 over the current workflow -- the limitations and idiosyncrasies of the current rip workflow are frustrating, and offer no advantages over the previous version that I can see.  It would be extremely disappointing to have to wait all the way to 11 to get improvements on such a basic functionality.

This bug has been present since at least the mid-9.0 series of MC:

Make two libraries, one with music and another with images and MPEGs. File/Library/Lib2, then play an MPEG to the end. Start another MPEG, then stop it and try File/Library/Lib1. This usually causes a crash.

Seems to be fine...

Try disabling a firewall and be sure to use Internet Explorer...
Also, do not use a download manager...

Hope that works.

This bug has been there since the first release of v10.  When playing content using a MediaServer and a remote library, MediaCenter will fill up the disk.

I have 8000+ WMA Lossless files on a server.  I often use a laptop to play random playlists for several hours at a time.  Unfortunately, after 3-4 hours the 2.5 gig I have free is used up and Windows XP starts to get very upset.  If I catch it in time, I can bring up IE and delete temporary internet files to recover the disk space.  Based on this, it looks like MC10 is ignoring the temporary files configuration value and not cleaning up after itself.
