I prefer to rip my CD's just once, and save the tracks as APE files with the most basic tag info. I burn these to a DVD+R , so that I can easily transcode as needed in the future. I will then convert the files to my lossy format of choice at the time, and keep these files on my hard drive.
As time goes by, I find myself adding more info to the tags, like lyrics etc. Is there a way to backup only the tag info, so that I can easily add all my new tag info to my old APE files? I have seen some third party software that supposedly can do this, but I have a feeling that it might be possible to do this in Media Center.
(I should perhaps also mention that I prefer to store tag info within the files.)
