Title: MoreTunes Plugin?
Post by: GHammer on June 19, 2004, 11:42:53 am
If this could be used in MC it would be great.
If you agree, why not ask the author for the ability?

I've used it on supported players and it is a very cool tool.

I don't want to flog a dead horse so I'll only bring this up once more.
You guys (JRiver) should really look into this for Media Center functionality. It already works with Windows Media Player and WinAmp automatically (if you want it to).

It IS NOT a download service. It is a Cover art / tag editor / lyric  finder utility. The beauty is that it works seamlessly. The cover art comes from amazon.com but the feature that makes it worth the $5 to me is that it finds the cover art just by clicking on the song -- it doesn't need to be playing. I click "Save" and it stores it in my Media Center Cover Art file under  the correct name of the album. What I'm saying is NO TYPING is necessary.

Same with tags. It shows a double column with your existing tags on the left and the suggested tags on the right. You can accept, not accept or accept with minor modifications that YOU make.

This thing works really well and seems perfect for Media Center. Check it out.

That is all.

looks awesome --  I have used another art tool that lets you get a batch of cover art at once, but then shows it as a list so you can pick and choose which cover art to accept and which not to accept.

I agree that it would be awesome to get this to work.

If Kings tools do this, please tell me exactly which plugin does this, because I am not aware of which one it is.

Thanks!!

There's loads more plugins here (http://www2.spartasoft.com:8080/MyPlugIns/)

Now ...my previous question was...

okay i tried it and i still have the same problem with the built in one....

when it finds the WRONG one, how do i tell it NO, thats not the right one?  When it does a whole batch then i have to find all the ones that were done wrong and UNDO them.  Am I missing something?

As much as i hate music match, it showed the batch results in a list and you got to pick which ones get applied.

thanks

I'm most certainly not trying to tout "moretunes" over King's plug-ins --- I haven't tried King's in a long time. I will look them over again. I may eat some words. It wouldn't be the first time.
Even if King's plug-ins are the bee's knees, it doesn't diminish moretunes --- but you don't have to pay for King's.

RobOK,
I've never tried Music Match for cover art and tag searching so I can't compare them. I do know that moretunes presents a list of possible albums in the lower half of the main screen with the most likely on top of the list. You pick a different album and the cover art and tags change accordingly.

One-stop shopping.
I don't need this, then that, then another.
Don't have to be playing a selection to use it.
Does tagging.
Other minor differences.

So, I'll ask you. What's the problem with choices?

It was the best feature of MusicMatch. If I used supported formats, I'd still use MM to tag files. It was the best I have found.

Currently I use The Godfather to get AMG info and tag files.

Nothing at all.

Choice means more questions about how A  stacks up with B,C, etc. Its hard to understand how good A is on its own. Only wanted to get user input when they are excited about something.

Thx for the summary and the compare.
