I purchased MC 10 and I have it installed on my PC, but whenever I try to download the latest version 10, it closes before installing. The same thing happens whether I open the exe file or if I download it to my desktop. It downloads fine, but when it is preparing to setup, my desktop starts to jitter and as soon as the first horizontal bar completes, it closes, so I can never install it. Here's the poop ...

Try downloading again and do not use a download manager. Some have trouble.
-
I'm having the same problem. The initializing bar fills up and then nothing happens. I have downloaded twice and it hasn't helped, neither time with a download accelerator.
I'll try dling again, but do you have any other ideas?
-
I don't use a download manager. I have the setup icon on my desktop but it wont complete. Anything else to try?
-
Try reading other threads here, but you may need to clean your temp files.
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Temp Internet Files/Delete Files. That is an IE bug.
-
I actually delete my temp files several times per day. I tried it anyway, but still can't install it.

Security set too high?

Security set too high?
I suppose that could be the problem. I don't think I have it unusually high, but I do have programs preventing spyware. I don't really even know what types of settings I would set lower to allow this installation. All other programs install fine.
-
I had this same problem and no one could help. For my problem, it appeared that a security application (TDS3) was causing the problem. It didn't matter that it was not in memory, it was only until I completely uninstalled the app that things improved.
-
If someone with the latest build would be kind enough to let you know the exact file size you could at least determine whether it is downloading properly.
-
this is still happening to me. i empty my temporary files frequently, i turn off security, i don't use a download manager. when i run the application, it shows me the loading bar, and when it is full, the application closes.
please help! i'd like to be able to use media center.

I finally got mine to work by completely uninstalling all the security programs that I have, but leaving the antivirus program on. I deleted Spyware Guard, Spybot, Ad-Aware, and Spywareblaster, then downloaded MC 10. After it then worked, I redownloaded the programs and installed them, and everything now works.

Rick,
Thanks for reporting the solution.

This solution worked for me as well. Thanks!
(any idea why the spyware stuff causes a problem?)

No. Please ask the company that makes the software.
Which one did you have installed?
