Title: Critical error
Post by: Stebajo on June 22, 2004, 07:12:38 am
I have seen this error many time starting MC, from many versions ago:  ?

Anyone has seen it before?

After this message, when MC starts seems that the visualization zone is cut off with a scissor tool.

In the 'Playing Now' list I had TV channels, music files and 1 video.
If I double click Tv ch. or music files nothing appen, if I try to play the video I get this second warning msg.:

Thanks for your time!

The only thing that I can do to fix the problem is restart Win XP pro.

Have you some idea?

I have DirectX 9.0b

Try turning off the "Optimize volume" thing in Options > Startup and let us know if you still see the problem.

Otherwise, maybe check for newer sound card drivers.

Thanks.

Thank Matt for your reply.

Optimize volume is already off.
I own an Audigy2 Platinum and I'll check again for new drivers.

Does a reboot fix it?

That error means the playback zone couldn't be created -- which is a critical error. (since the playback zone does any playback)

We've never heard of this before, so it has us a little stumped.

Anyone else seen this or have any ideas?

Yes Matt, reboot Win XP is the only thing that I can do to fix the issue.
The next time I'll try to use some other player and I'll tell you something more..
Many thanks.

I am having the same problem, except for even rebooting does not help. I just bought this program as well, and it was great during the trial, and now two weeks in, I can't use it.... any suggestions....

Reinstall the latest.  Report the exact error in a new thread if it keeps happening.
