I have made several changes in names artists and other information concerning songs I have ripped in my database.
For example, there is an artist which was ripped with 3 almost identical names. I have changed them all 3 into only one name.
After changing the name I thought that these changes were also made in the directory scheme on the harddisk. Unfortunately it wasn't. I tested this several MC10 builds ago. These 3 artists I mentioned was there with 3 almost identical directory's, instead of only one.
Is there someting like "commit changes now" so that every database setting is copied to the harddisk.

I think that the only way to achive what you want is by performing a rename files from properties, aplying the needed directory structure, once you've made the changes in names or artists in the database.

Your suggestion seems okay. Might give it a try. That would mean I would have to do a "rename file from properties" with all files. If I do that on my handheld the system (PC) almost locks up.
I would like to have someone from JRiver confirm that this will work. On the other hand I don't understand why all those databasechanges were not performed anyway. Strange :-\

You need to use Library Tools/Rename files from properties. Try a few before you do many.

Just tried it, and I think it worked. But why o why wasn't this done straigt after making a name correction ?
Funny thing is that it warns you afterwards for empty folders on the disk. But it does not remove all of them.
It works, but I only tried 3 directory's. Afraid to do all :-\

It won't remove a directory if it's not empty - I suspect in your case, the directories that weren't removed weren't empty. If you have any other files, such as cover art or ripping logs, they will have to be moved manually.
Also, it doesn't make the change to directory structure automatically because, for whatever reason, some people don't keep their directory structure consistent with MC's internal structure.

Could you elaborate on this. I don't see any reason why this is wanted.
Gonna give it a try this weekend to do all.
Also gonna change my naming scheme because doing a rename file from properties on my handheld is a real unpleasant command. :(

Because I don't want software making assumptions about how it thinks I should have the directory structure on my hardrive organized. For example, I have a lot of single tracks in my library. I keep them all in one folder called Various. I don't want a bunch of directories auto-created that each have only one track in them.

I understand your point. I have a different scheme but I get the idea. I guess only the changed information is written in the tag.
Is there a way to have this setting executed automatically so I don't have to do this rename file from properties from time to time.
