Title: Media Center 9 - Where are the updates?
Post by: jnms on July 02, 2004, 08:27:29 am
Hiya, recently had to reinstall Media Center 9 on my PC, only to find that the "Check for Updates" function will not download the 15mb update that it shows as available.

Anyone able to help here please?

There are no new updates or fixes to MC 9.x, because it's now retaired.

JRiver's development work goes to the current version 10 and above. As far as I know Check For Updates button works only in the current version.

However you can download the last version of MC 9.x from here:

Thanks for the link. :)

As for Media Center 10, I assume that if I want that, the fee I paid for version 9 doesn't cover any upgrade costs?

Cheers...

Upgrade info is here:
http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/buy_faq10.html (http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/buy_faq10.html)

Ugrade price from v. 9.x is now (limited time?) only $9.98 if you paid for v.9. licence.

It's $14.98 if you paid full price for Media Jukebox 8 and got Media Center 9 free. (I paid that.)

If you have not installed v.10 before I think you have the full 30 days trial period to find out if you like it. Otherwise you can go back to v.9.x.

I don't know if you can use v.10 library in v.9.x. So backup your current library first.
